The main event is two easy-going, friendly cruiser-style races on Saturday. One course is specially designed for new sailors. The whole day is designed for non-racers, so don't be afraid to join us, even if you've never raced before. We'll have simplified regatta rules for non-racers; all you need to know is the ordinary "rules of the road" for sailing. . (Click here for the Eligibility and Regatta Rules.)

After the races, the party begins. Saturday night we'll have the Award Ceremony and dinner at the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club. We'll be staying overnight at the Monterey Yacht Harbor.

On Sunday morning, we'll have brunch at the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club. There'll be plenty of free time for daysailing after brunch on Sunday.

You don't have to race to join the party. If you'd rather daysail than race, that's fine -- come and join us! Just check off the appropriate boxes on the registration form for the activities you want to attend.

Last year, 48 boats showed up for the regatta. There were skippers of all skill levels and boat of every description -- and everybody had a great weekend!

Schedule

Saturday, July 17, 2004
Before 9 am: Rig and Launch
Pay Parking and Berth Fees
at Marina HarborMaster's Office

Arrive before 9 am and park, rig and launch at the Monterey Yacht Harbor.

Pay for parking and your berth at the HarborMaster's Office. Berth is $15/night. Parking is $12 per calendar day for your vehicle and trailer. Dock key deposit is $25, refundable.

If you arrive late, you may have to park in over-flow parking, which is a block away from the launch ramp.

The Monterey Marina is not accepting reservations for groups in advance any more. But there's no worry -- the staff at the Harbormaster's office says there will be plenty of slips if you arrive on time.

Last year, 30 of the more-than-40 skippers arrived with their boats on Friday or earlier, which made their Saturday schedule much more relaxed.
